Festival of the Most Holy Crucifix 2025
The 2025 edition of the Festival of the Most Holy Crucifix in Gioia del Colle was held in mid-September, around the day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (September 14th), confirming a devotional appointment deeply rooted in the Murgia community.
The celebrations took place in the Church of Sant'Antonio, also known as the Church of the Crucifix, where the venerated wooden simulacrum attributed to Fra Angelo da Pietrafitta is kept. Moments of prayer, solemn services, and community events accompanied the festival, which was included in the city's Joha AeStas 2025 summer calendar, featuring over fifty events spanning culture, music, and religious traditions.
