Edition 2025 — Most Holy Crucifix Festival

In 2025, the Festival of the Most Holy Crucifix in Calatafimi-Segesta was not celebrated in a solemn form. It is an event that does not occur annually: after the last major edition held around 2012, the community had to wait until 2026 for its return. In the intervening years, including 2025, the cult of the Crucifix remained alive through daily devotion and ordinary religious services at the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima di Giubino.

The festival in 2025

Unlike traditional annual patronal festivals, the Festival of the Most Holy Crucifix of Calatafimi-Segesta is celebrated in a solemn form only after several years. For this reason, the full edition with the parades of the Ceti and the processions did not take place in 2025: the last major celebration dated back about fourteen years, around 2012, and the return was scheduled for May 2026.

Throughout 2025, devotion to the Crucifix continued in Calatafimi-Segesta, in the province of Trapani, through ordinary religious services, in anticipation of the grand return of the centuries-old festival.
