Festival of the Holy Martyrs (Secondiano, Veriano and Marcelliano)

From August 3rd to 8th, 2025, Tuscania celebrated its patron saints Secondiano, Veriano and Marcelliano with a rich religious and popular program. The celebrations opened with holy masses at 6:30 PM in the Cathedral of San Giacomo (August 3rd and 4th), followed on August 5th by the feast of the Madonna della Neve with mass at Largo Madonna della Neve.

The most evocative moment arrived on the evening of August 7th, at 9:30 PM, with the procession from the Edicola dei Santi Martiri on Via dell'Olivo to the Romanesque Basilica of San Pietro, organized by the Associazione Cultores Martyrum with the participation of the "R. Eusepi" town band of Tuscania and the "Santa Rosa" flag-wavers and musicians from Viterbo. On August 8th, the 6:30 PM solemn mass at the Basilica of San Pietro was presided over by H.E. Monsignor Orazio Francesco Piazza, Bishop of Viterbo; in the evening, the traditional tombola in Piazza Italia, organized by the National Association of Carabinieri in retirement, brought the patronal feast to a joyful conclusion.
