Edition 2025 — Festival of the Herring

In 2025, the Festa de la Renga once again animated Parona di Verona on Ash Wednesday, featuring polenta and herring stalls, the masked parade of 'Siora La Parona', and the closing of the Veronese Carnival, continuing a tradition of over fifty years.

The Festival of the Herring once again confirmed its role as the closing event of the Veronese Carnival in 2025. In Parona di Verona, on Ash Wednesday, food stalls served the traditional polenta and renga, while the masked parade led by 'Siora La Parona' traversed the district's streets to Piazza del Porto. This popular ritual, organized by the Comitato Benefico Festa de la Renga, renews the community's bond with its traditions and the transition from Carnival to Lent each year.
