Festival of the Assumption 2025

The 2025 edition of the Mid-August Festival confirmed the high level of popular participation in Novara di Sicilia. On the evening of August 15th, the Vara of the Assumption emerged from the Cathedral after the singing of the Ave Maris Stella, traveling through the historic center with the famous "dance of the Madonna," amidst stops and hymns in the squares, until late at night.

On August 16th, the solemn procession with the relics of Saint Hugh the Abbot took place, followed in the subsequent days by the rites of translation between the Cathedral and the Abbey with the parish confraternities. Thousands of the faithful and returning emigrants enlivened the Nebrodi village for the most important festival of the year.
