Festival of the Alpine Guides and Procession of the Assumption

The 2025 edition of the Procession of the Assumption renewed one of the most beloved rites of the Gressoney-La-Trinité summer. On the evening of August 15th, the community gathered in the church square for Mass, followed by the evocative torchlight procession among the Walser houses of the historic centre.

As tradition dictates, some women wore the typical Gressoney costume, and the Alpine Guides carried the statue of the Madonna, celebrating their activity on the mountains of Monte Rosa. The evening concluded with the parish priest's blessing, in an atmosphere of intense emotion in the village of the upper Lys Valley, in the province of Aosta.
