The 2025 festival in Letino

In 2025, the village of Letino, in the province of Caserta, once again entrusted itself to Maria Santissima del Castello, Queen of the Matese, celebrating the patronal feast on the third Sunday of September. The parish community of San Giovanni Battista led the celebrations with solemn masses and processions, following a tradition alive since 1880.

The faithful from Letino, Gallo, Fontegreca, and Capriati accompanied the statue of the Madonna through the streets of the village, while the women of Letino and Gallo Matese wore traditional wedding costumes as a sign of homage. At the end of the festivities, the Marian icon returned in procession to the Sanctuary of the Castle, the spiritual heart of the community in the Matese Regional Park, in Campania.
