Festival of Saint Petronilla and Saint Anthony

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Saint Petronilla and Saint Anthony was celebrated in Acciano on May 30 and 31. The eve, dedicated to Saint Anthony, saw the inauguration of the new playground at Capo l'Aia, the procession accompanied by the liturgical choirs of maestro Carmine Omogrosso, and solemn vespers at the sanctuary.

On May 31, the day of the patron saint, the solemn mass was celebrated by Monsignor Antonio D'Angelo, Archbishop of L'Aquila, with the blessing of local relics and those arrived from Assoro. The statue was carried in procession by the Saint Petronilla Bearers Group of Assoro, accompanied by the bands of Introdacqua and Paganica. In the afternoon, the twinning pact was signed between the mayors of Acciano and Assoro at the new Town Hall. The evening concluded with a fireworks display and live music by the bands Discoring and Tale e Quali o quasi.
