Festival of Saint Maurus the Abbot – 'A Fera

The 2025 edition of the patronal festival of San Mauro Castelverde confirmed the vitality of one of the most deep-rooted traditions of the Madonie. The festivities in honor of Saint Maurus the Abbot had their central day on the first Tuesday of July, accompanied by the usual rites and evening entertainment in Piano San Mauro.

Among the events of the 2025 edition: the evocative historical re-enactment "Oggi come allora, 'a Vigilia dă Féra" along the processional routes, organized in collaboration with the Knights of Saint Maurus; the procession with the statue of the patron saint and the opening of the Shrine of Saint Maurus the Abbot; the evening show with Amistà and Mago Plip in Piano San Mauro; and the concert by singer Valerio Scanu. To close, the processions of the saint, outdoor masses, symphonic band performances, and the Octave with the blessing of the fields at Piano San Mauro.
