Festival of Saint Martha and Saint Blaise (Patron Saints of Marta)

The 2025 edition

In 2025, the patronal feast of Marta, on Lake Bolsena, once again followed its immutable calendar of July 28 and 29. On the eve of the feast, after solemn vespers in the Collegiate Church, the bust of Saint Martha was loaded onto a decorated fishing boat steered by a local fisherman, starting the lake procession along the entire village, with a procession of illuminated vessels and the population following from the shore along with the confraternity and the band.

On July 29th, the day of the patron saints Saint Martha and Saint Blaise, the day opened with a solemn mass and closed in the evening with the procession through the town streets, the blessing from the town hall, and fireworks over the lake waters, while the Guglielmo Marconi lakefront hosted market stalls. All events were free of charge.
