Edition 2025 — Pitu and the Rocca
The 2025 edition of the festival of Saint Francis of Paola confirmed the extraordinary strength of Viggianello's arboreal rite. In the last week of August, the Pollino community relived the various phases of the Pitu and the Rocca: from the felling of the two trees in the woods to their dragging to the historic center, up to the culminating moment of their erection and union in the square. On Sunday, the solemn procession celebrated the patron saint Francis of Paola, sealing a festival that remains among the most emblematic of Basilicata.
