Festival of Saint Emidius

On August 5, 2025, Ascoli Piceno honored Saint Emidius with an intense day of celebrations. In the morning, after the dawn blessing of the basil on the cathedral square, the solemn Pontifical Mass with Papal Blessing was held, presided over by Cardinal Giuseppe Petrocchi, while Archbishop Gianpiero Palmieri celebrated the late afternoon Mass, followed by the procession through the historic center.

On the civil front, the evening in Piazza del Popolo featured a concert by the Piceno Pop Chorus and folk dances with I Piceni Pizzicati, concluding with the drawing of the Tombola of Saint Emidius and the traditional fireworks display that lit up the Ascoli night.
