Edition 2025 — Madonna della Stella and Nusazit

In 2025, San Costantino Albanese celebrated Our Lady of the Star on the second Sunday of May, with the tradition of the Nusazit: the pyrotechnic puppets lit in the morning before the start of the procession, in an identity ritual of the Arbëresh community.

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Our Lady of the Star renewed the identity ritual of the Nusazit in San Costantino Albanese. As tradition dictates, the papier-mâché puppets in Arbëresh costume were lit and exploded one after another in the morning; only after the explosion of the last Nusaz did the band strike up the music and the procession of the Madonna's effigy begin, amidst religious songs and deep Marian devotion of the Albanian-speaking community of Val Sarmento.
