Edition 2025 — New Rice and Mortorio
In 2025 too, the Festival of New Rice and Mortorio enlivened Rosasco on the second Sunday of September. New rice dinner and lunch, dancing, and the setup of the ancient catafalque of the Mortorio in the parish church combined gastronomy and centuries-old tradition.
The 2025 edition of the Festival of New Rice and Mortorio confirmed the September event in Rosasco, in the heart of the rice-growing Lomellina region.
The festival offered dinner and lunch featuring new rice, accompanied by music and dancing, while in the parish church, the Mortorio was set up, the imposing catafalque that since 1727 bears witness to the community's devotion born from the vow against the Sesia floods.
