Festival of Myth, Art, and Literature

The 2025 edition of the festival, titled Festival between the genius of Verga and the echoes of Myth, was presented at a press conference on June 20, 2025 at Villa Fortuna, in Aci Trezza, and took place from June 26 to September 8. Literary curation was entrusted to Dora Marchese, with the support of the Pro Loco of Aci Castello, the Tourism Department, the Federico II Foundation, and the patronage of the Verga Foundation.

The programme wove together literary readings dedicated to the work of Giovanni Verga, theatrical performances, and cultural meetings, involving prominent performers of the Sicilian scene such as Pippo Pattavina, Francesca Ferro, and Ezio Donato. The events brought Aci Castello and the villages of the Riviera dei Ciclopi, in the province of Catania, to life, confirming the bond between the festival, myth, and the Verghian memory of the places of the Malavoglia.
