Edition 2025 — Maria SS. Cacciapensieri Festival

In August 2025, Cammarata renewed its most cherished patronal festival in honor of Maria SS. Cacciapensieri and Saint Joseph. Between solemn masses, processions of the statues through the village streets, the folkloric horseback parade, the Cursa di Carruzzuna, the Vicchiarieddi, and fireworks, the entire Sicani Mountains community gathered around its patron saints in the heart of summer.

The 2025 edition

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Maria SS. Cacciapensieri and Saint Joseph confirmed the central importance of this recurrence in the life of Cammarata, a village in the Sicani Mountains in the province of Agrigento. On August 15, the day of the Assumption, the community gathered for the procession of the statue of Maria SS. Cacciapensieri, accompanied by the band and the recitation of the rosary.

On August 16, the traditional Vicchiarieddi returned with the living representation of the Holy Family and the sharing of traditional dishes and Saint Joseph's soup in the square. The celebrations concluded on August 18 with the grand joint procession of the statues of the two patron saints and the evening fireworks display, crowning days rich in faith, music, and folklore.
