Festival of Maria Santissima del Suffragio – Festa dei Manoppi

The 2025 edition of the Festa dei Manoppi in Colonnella, in the province of Teramo, was celebrated on Sunday, July 13, with religious events starting on Saturday. The event took on a special dimension by hosting the National Gathering of Italian Confraternities, a moment of rediscovery of the ancient historical ties between Colonnella and Martinsicuro, which were once a single administrative entity.

Alongside the historic Confraternity of the Madonna del Suffragio of Colonnella, led by Prior Guerino Reganatini, the Confraternity of San Gabriele dell'Addolorata of Martinsicuro participated for its first official outing. The day followed the usual ritual: the arrival of the carts pulled by white oxen, the solemn religious service, the procession with the gilded throne of the Virgin through the village streets, and the re-enactment of the ancient threshing of the wheat sheaves.
