Edition 2025 — Festival of Lights

The 2025 Festival of Lights took place from 6 to 8 June in Piana degli Albanesi, marking the return of the festival conceived and directed by Salvatore Cannova and Alfonso Gianluca Gucciardo. Three days of free theatre, music, and workshops at the Cinema Vicari, the Cathedral of San Demetrio Megalomartire, and the MUSARB Museum, featuring shows, a choral concert, and a book presentation.

Festival of Lights 2025

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Lights was held from 6 to 8 June in Piana degli Albanesi, in collaboration with the Municipality and I.R.C.O.P.A. The programme intertwined theatre, sacred music, and culture.

  • 6 June - Cinema Vicari, 9:00 PM: the theatre show "Minchia - Virsione nostrana", written and directed by Salvatore Cannova, featuring Antonio D'Angelo and music by the French composer René Aubry.
  • 7 June - Cathedral of San Demetrio Megalomartire, 8:30 PM: concert by the Cum Iubilo Choir, conducted by Maestro Giovanni Scalici.
  • 8 June - MUSARB Museum, 6:00 PM: presentation of the book "The Song of Songs".

The heart of the festival consisted of free theatre workshops led by Marzia Molinelli, Salvatore Cannova, and Alfonso Gianluca Gucciardo, with performers Rossella Guarneri, Federica Gumina, Marina Mazzamuto, Federico Punzi, Kiara Castro Bèjar, and Eligio Scorsone. All events were free and open to the public.
