About Festival of Knowledge
Culture as Public Policy
The Festival of Knowledge in Sernaglia della Battaglia, in the province of Treviso, is a series of evening talks organized by the Municipality in its own council hall. Born as a project of citizenship and public debate, the festival addresses the major themes of the present with nationally recognized guests, in evenings with free admission open to the entire community.
Themes and Guests
The program intertwines geopolitics, information, end-of-life, prison, sport, nutrition, war, animal and artificial intelligence. Among the featured voices: Moni Ovadia, Marco Travaglio on the right to information and disinformation, Marco Cappato on end-of-life and freedom of choice, Giorgio Vallortigara on animal, human, and artificial intelligence, Franco Berrino on nutrition and prevention, Beppe Carletti, founder of Nomadi, on music as civil commitment.
A Festival Built with Schools
One of the distinctive features of the Festival of Knowledge is the involvement of local schools: the local institutes — the «Ippolito Nievo» Comprehensive Institute, the «Marco Casagrande» ITIS, and the «G. Verdi» ITIS — participate with preparatory work in the classroom, so that the meetings are not just lectures but moments of shared growth for the younger generations of the Quartier del Piave.
An Event for the Community
Promoted by the Municipality of Sernaglia della Battaglia, the festival has become one of the reference cultural events for the Marca Trevigiana, capable of bringing names to a small town in Veneto that are usually found in major theaters and universities. An opportunity to listen, understand, and discuss the challenges of our time together.
Festival of Knowledge — edition 2026
The 4th edition of the Festival of Knowledge is scheduled from January 27 to April 3, 2026, with twelve free admission evenings in the Municipal Council Hall of Sernaglia della Battaglia. The theme is culture as public policy: twelve talks on geopolitics, information, end-of-life, prison, sport, nutrition, war, and animal and artificial intelligence, with the involvement of local schools.

Tuesday, January 27 — Opening

- Marco Cappato — end-of-life and freedom of choice

Friday, April 3 — Closing
- Patricia Zanco — theatrical tribute to journalist Tina Merlin

How to Get Here
Sernaglia della Battaglia is located in the Quartier del Piave, in the province of Treviso. By car from the A27 (Conegliano exit), then take the SP towards Pieve di Soligo and Sernaglia. The talks are held in the Municipal Council Hall.
