Edition 2025 — Forgotten Fruits
The 34th edition of the Festival of Forgotten Fruits confirmed Casola Valsenio as the autumn capital of peasant flavors. Over the two weekends of October 11-12 and 18-19, 2025, the historic center of the village in the Senio Valley was filled with stalls, scents, and autumn colors.
Over fifty local producers offered their rediscovered fruits - azzeroles, jujubes, volpine pears, rose apples, quinces, medlars, sorbs, arbutus berries, hazelnuts - and of course, the prized Casola chestnuts. The program included guided tastings, degustrekking on Saturday, October 18th, sensory and culinary workshops, dessert and jam competitions, food stalls with soups, desserts, and liqueurs, the Square of Forgotten Games for the little ones, street art performances, and folk music. There were also ancient plants for sale and visits to the Herb Garden and the Cardello.
