A Journey Between Abruzzo and Rome
The Festival of Arrosticini and Cacio e Pepe Pasta is one of the gastronomic events of the season at the Maggiolone Social Park in Cassano Magnago, a municipality in the Province of Varese. For three days, at the end of May, the park on Via Primo Maggio becomes a home for the flavors of central Italy, with Abruzzo and Rome as protagonists on the table.
Flavors on the Table
The menu is a feast for the palate: the famous grilled Abruzzese sheep arrosticini, Roman cacio e pepe pasta, but also carbonara, supplì, porchetta, artichokes, and a series of regional specialties, from stuffed pork bags to ribs, down to traditional desserts. Table service is available, with limited seating and reservations recommended, and takeaway is also offered.
Music and Entertainment
The evenings are enlivened by music and shows: Friday with 'Quanto sei bella Roma', a tribute to Roman songs and sonnets; Saturday with the VaiTra Party, featuring live music, DJ sets, a market, a mechanical bull, and exhibitions; Sunday with Luciano and Paola and ballroom dancing. Play areas, a shooting gallery, and family spaces remain open throughout the festival.
An Indoor Festival
Like all events at the Maggiolone Social Park, the festival takes place under a large 1,600 sqm covered structure, allowing you to enjoy the celebration even in case of bad weather. This free-admission event confirms Cassano Magnago as a reference point for themed festivals in the Varese area.
Arrosticini and Cacio e Pepe Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Festival of Arrosticini and Cacio e Pepe Pasta takes place from May 29 to 31 at the Maggiolone Social Park in Cassano Magnago. On the menu are grilled Abruzzese arrosticini, Roman cacio e pepe, carbonara, supplì, porchetta, and other Central Italian specialties. The evenings alternate between tributes to Roman songs, the VaiTra Party with live music and DJ sets, and ballroom dancing.
