Festival in Honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Elijah the Prophet

The 2025 Edition

The 2025 festivities in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Prophet Elijah took place from June 26 to 29 in Contrada Sant'Elia, Locorotondo, in the Itria Valley. On the evenings of June 26, 27, and 28, the traditional Chanting of Vespers was held at the Church of Sant'Elia.

The most anticipated moment was the solemn procession on Sunday, June 29, which started at 6:00 PM: the statues of the Virgin and the Prophet Elijah were accompanied from the district to the town center of Locorotondo, for a route of nearly 5 kilometers, concluding with Holy Mass on the square. The social program featured the Scopa Tournament, traditional games, the Local Food Festival curated by "Ape d'Itria", the musical show "Balla Live" on June 28, and "MusichiAMO & Dr.Io" on June 29, with the morning cycling tour and fireworks at 11:30 PM closing the festival.
