Festival delle Nazioni

The 2025 edition of the Festival delle Nazioni, the 58th, took place in Città di Castello from August 28 to September 12 and was dedicated to France, the first chapter of a three-year cycle that will continue with Germany in 2026 and culminate in 2027, the sixtieth anniversary year, with a look at Europe as a whole.

The program brought French tradition into dialogue with Italian art, exploring Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, Fauré, and Bizet, between classical repertoire and new contemporary creations. The festival opened with Oscar winner Nicola Piovani with his «Preludio al Cantico», inspired by Saint Francis; the closing was entrusted to the absolute premiere of Rachel Portman's «Filmscapes». Among the most anticipated moments were an evening dedicated to François Truffaut and a tribute to Pasolini.
