Festival della Sapienza

The first edition of the Festival della Sapienza, titled The Restless Dignity, was held from September 24th to 26th, 2025, at the Nuovo Teatro Ateneo and other spaces within the Sapienza University City in Rome.

The core theme was dignity understood not as an abstract principle, but as a concrete existential condition, constantly threatened by inequality, violence, and exclusion. The program explored forgotten stories, systemic exclusions, and silenced voices.

Among the titles on the program: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Teatro Potlach, which opened the festival on the evening of September 24th, On the Trail of Majorana, Cursed Women, Silent Screams, The Monsoon, Every Stupid Thing, and The Exception and the Rule. On September 25th, the program also included itinerant performances in the campus spaces, while the final day of September 26th concluded in the evening.

Admission was free subject to availability, with booking recommended via the university's online form.
