Nine months of art, literature, memory, and music in the Quartier del Piave
The Festival della Cultura of Moriago della Battaglia, a municipality in the province of Treviso in the Quartier del Piave, has an original format: not a week of concentrated events, but a nine-month cultural journey, from October to June, with monthly appointments that weave together art, literature, current affairs, and memory. It is promoted by the Associazione Moriago Racconta with the artistic direction of Lorena Gava.
The program alternates exhibitions of painting, sculpture, and photography by contemporary artists, literary and poetry meetings, moments of reflection on the environment and biodiversity, art history lectures, guided wine tastings, and creative workshops for children. A calendar that fosters dialogue between disciplines and generations.
The events mainly take place at the Casa del Musichiere and Caffè Centrale in Moriago della Battaglia, spaces that become places for meeting and discussion for the community and visitors. Among the recurring themes are the memory of the territory—from the Vajont landslide to the centenary of Guido Cadorin's frescoes in the church of Moriago—and the landscape identity of the Quartier del Piave.
With its unusual duration and variety of offerings, the Festival della Cultura of Moriago is an example of widespread culture that enhances a small Veneto town, transforming it for nine months a year into a laboratory of art, words, and memory.
The 2025-2026 edition, the IX, of the Festival della Cultura of Moriago della Battaglia opened on Sunday, October 5, 2025, with an exhibition by painter Olimpia Biasi dedicated to the Palù of the Quartier del Piave, and continues with monthly appointments until June 2026.
Among the 2026 highlights: the exhibition "Geometrie infuocate" by Paolo Favaro at the Casa del Musichiere (inaugurated on February 7); the meeting with writer Mauro Corona discussing the book "Rifugi per un tempo sospeso" (March 11); the meeting with poet Fabio Franzin at Caffè Centrale (May 14, 8:30 PM); the concert-tribute to Ezio Bosso. The program is completed by celebrations dedicated to the Vajont landslide and the centenary of Guido Cadorin's frescoes, exhibitions, guided wine tastings, and workshops for children.
