Edition 2025 — Festival Aperto

The XVII edition of Festival Aperto, titled "The Rising Tide of the Obscene," took place in Reggio Emilia from September 19 to November 22, 2025. Thirty-one shows, sixty performances, sixteen productions and co-productions, nine world premieres, and fifteen Italian premieres spanned music, dance, theatre, and performance, with a program that asserted a clear stance on the present and its contradictions.

The XVII edition of Festival Aperto was held from September 19 to November 22, 2025, in the theaters of Reggio Emilia, with the title "The Rising Tide of the Obscene." The program brought together thirty-one shows and sixty performances, sixteen productions and co-productions, nine world premieres, and fifteen Italian premieres, in a journey that intertwined music, dance, theatre, and performance. The Nigerian artist Nneka, capable of blending soul, afrobeat, and reggae, inaugurated the festival. The shows took place at the Teatro Municipale Valli, Teatro Ariosto, Teatro Cavallerizza, and Sala Verdi, confirming the international and research-oriented nature of the Reggio Emilia event.
