Edition 2025 — Festa Ra Barca

In 2025, the Festa Ra Barca once again renewed the oldest tree rite in Western Liguria in Bajardo, with the cutting, raising, and felling of the Pentecost Tree, the historical parade, and the singing of the ballad "Ra Barca." The event, linked to a love legend from over 800 years ago, confirmed its value as intangible heritage of the Imperia hinterland.

The 2025 edition of the Festa Ra Barca re-enacted in Bajardo the ancient Pentecost rite, marked by the cutting of the tree, its raising in the village square, and its subsequent felling. Amidst the historical parade, traditional songs, and collective round dance around the pine, the community renewed a centuries-old bond with the legend and its roots. A festival that, recognized among the Authentic Events of Liguria, preserves the deepest identity of this village in the Sanremo hinterland.
