Fèšta do Maja (Maja Festival)

The 2025 edition of the Festa del Maja confirmed the vitality of this tradition in Basso Molise. The large Maja figure, entirely covered with flowers, herbs, and branches, paraded through the streets of Acquaviva Collecroce as a symbol of spring rebirth, accompanied by folk groups and the community. There were also workshops, tastings of Croatian-Molise cuisine, and moments dedicated to promoting the na-našu language and the identity of the linguistic minority.

The 2025 program re-proposed the traditional structure of the festival: assembly of the Maja, parade through the village with folk groups, creative workshops, tastings, and activities dedicated to Croatian-Molise roots.
