Festa di Sant'Emidio

On August 5, 2025, Ascoli Piceno honoured Saint Emidius with an intense day of celebrations. In the morning, after the dawn blessing of the basil on the Cathedral parvis, the solemn Pontifical Mass with Papal Blessing was held, presided over by Cardinal Giuseppe Petrocchi, while Archbishop Gianpiero Palmieri celebrated the late afternoon Mass, followed by the procession through the historic centre.

On the civil front, the evening in Piazza del Popolo featured a concert by the Piceno Pop Chorus and folk dances with I Piceni Pizzicati, concluding with the drawing of the Tombola di Sant'Emidio and the traditional fireworks display that lit up the Ascolan night.
