Edition 2025 — Festa di San Martino

On November 11, 2025, the San Martino district of Gubbio celebrated the Festa di San Martino with the historic Albero della Cuccagna in Piazza Giordano Bruno. Amidst chestnuts, wine, and the greased pole challenge, the team 'I Matti di Gubbio' took home the victory.

In 2025, the Festa di San Martino renewed the tradition of the Albero della Cuccagna in Piazza Giordano Bruno, in the San Martino district of Gubbio. The evening of November 11th saw the usual distribution of chestnuts and wine, followed by the competition of teams striving to climb the greased pole to win the capon at the top.

The team 'I Matti di Gubbio' emerged victorious, to the delight of the numerous attendees. A festival described as a 'festival of identity' by the organizers, capable of bringing together the district's community in one of the city's most beloved folk traditions, in the province of Perugia.
