The 2025 edition of the festival of San Francesco di Paola confirmed the extraordinary strength of Viggianello's arboreal rite. In the last week of August, the Pollino community relived the various phases of the Pitu e la Rocca: from the felling of the two trees in the woods to their dragging to the historic centre, up to the climactic moment of erection and joining in the square. On Sunday, the solemn procession celebrated the patron saint San Francesco di Paola, sealing a festival that remains one of Basilicata's most defining events.
