Edition 2025 — Le Farchie

In 2025, Fara Filiorum Petri once again celebrated the Festa delle Farchie on January 16th in honor of Saint Anthony the Abbot. The districts built the traditional reed bundles, over ten meters high, carried in procession to the church of Saint Anthony the Abbot and lit at sunset amidst firecrackers. The evening continued with songs, music, and traditional Abruzzese flavors, in one of the most heartfelt identity-defining events in the province of Chieti.

The 2025 edition

On January 16, 2025, the community of Fara Filiorum Petri, in the province of Chieti, renewed the ritual of the farchie in honor of Saint Anthony the Abbot. The districts built the large reed bundles tied with red willow, transporting them to the square of the church of Saint Anthony the Abbot for vertical hoisting.

At dusk, the farchie were lit, illuminating the night with imposing columns of fire. The festival was accompanied by folk songs, music, wine, and traditional dishes, confirming the Festa delle Farchie as one of the most authentic events in the Abruzzese winter calendar.
