Edition 2025 — Festa della 'Ndenna

In 2025 too, the Festa della 'Ndenna animated Castelsaraceno on the three Sundays of June, renewing the arboreal wedding rite between the beech from Bosco Favino and the pine from Mount Armizzone, with the procession of Saint Anthony and the final raising of the two tree-spouses.

The 2025 edition of the Festa della 'Ndenna confirmed the traditional structure of the rite: on the three Sundays of June, the community of Castelsaraceno celebrated the cutting and transport of the two trees, the devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua, and the culminating moment of the raising, with the free climb on the stripped trunk. The festival attracted visitors and scholars drawn to one of Europe's oldest arboreal rites, preserved in the heart of Basilicata between the Pollino and the Lucanian Apennines.
