Edition 2025 — Madonna del Piano
The 2025 edition of the Festa della Madonna del Piano took place on August 4th and 5th in Episcopia, renewing the centuries-old rites of the scythe dance, wheat offerings, and procession with the wooden statue to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Piano.
Even in 2025, Episcopia celebrated the Festa della Madonna del Piano on the traditional dates of August 4th and 5th. The community gathered around its oldest rites — the scythe dance, the offering of 'scigli' and 'gregne', the procession with the wooden statue — in a festival that blends devotion and peasant memory, and which every summer draws residents and returning emigrants to the village of the Sinni Valley.
