Edition 2025 — Madonna del Carmine Avigliano
On July 16, 2025, Avigliano renewed the ancient rite of the ascent of the Madonna del Carmine to the sanctuary on the mountain, with the six-kilometer pilgrimage, the votive candle 'cinti', and the gold-embroidered 'palii', in one of the most spectacular popular devotional festivals in Basilicata.
In 2025 as well, the community of Avigliano accompanied the statue of the Madonna del Carmine along the pilgrimage towards the Sanctuary of Monte Carmine. Amidst monumental 'cinti', embroidered 'palii', and thousands of faithful, the July 16th festival confirmed its identity-forming strength, awaiting the return descent on the second Sunday of September.
