Festa dell'Aquilone

The 70th edition of the Festa dell'Aquilone (1955-2025) celebrated the event's seventy years with a four-day program, from September 4 to 7, 2025. The festival opened on Thursday, September 4, with kite painting workshops for children at the Collegio Raffaello and the opening ceremony in Piazza della Repubblica, accompanied by a DJ set from Radio Studio+.

Saturday and Sunday featured performances by international kite flyers and races at the Parco dell'Aquilone on the Cesane hills, with awards for Kite Flyer of the Year, Miss Comet, and the Giovanni Pascoli Award for young participants. The final competition among the ten districts of Urbino crowned the Piantata district as the winner of the Città di Urbino trophy, celebrated during the Dinner of the Districts in Piazza del Rinascimento.

• Friday, September 5 — 4:00 PM workshops for children (Collegio Raffaello); 8:30 PM return of the trophy and delivery of competition materials at the Fortezza Albornoz.
• Saturday, September 6 — 10:00 AM international kite flyers' exhibitions at Parco dell'Aquilone (Cesane); 3:00 PM individual races at Fortezza Albornoz; 5:45 PM parade of the districts; 6:30 PM drawing for Sunday's race in Piazza Rinascimento.
• Sunday, September 7 — 10:00 AM-6:00 PM international exhibitions and race among the districts at Parco dell'Aquilone; 8:00 PM Dinner of the Districts with awards ceremony and DJ set in Piazza del Rinascimento.
