A festival that tells of «the other world»

The Festa dell'Altromondo is a historic event in Usmate Velate, a municipality in the province of Monza e Brianza. Born in 2003 coinciding with the opening of the La Bottequa space, it celebrates diversity and the stories of different cultures and realities through food, music, stalls, and moments of reflection, in a spirit of openness and solidarity.

World Cuisines and Live Music

The festival takes place at the Cascina Corrada Civic Centre, on via Vivaldi, and features themed evenings with street food and cuisines from various countries—from Mexican to Sahrawi—accompanied by concerts and DJ sets. The musical offering ranges from local bands to guest artists, with a particular focus on fun and interaction. The solidarity market, featuring fair-trade products and creations from local organizations, completes the event's offerings.

Solidarity as a Common Thread

What makes the Festa dell'Altromondo special is its purpose: all funds raised are allocated to solidarity projects chosen by volunteers. The event is organized by the La Bottequa club along with numerous associations—including Operazione Mato Grosso, Altromercato, Legambiente, and Emergency—that share values of social justice and cooperation. An event that for over two decades has united the community of Usmate Velate around food, music, and civic engagement.
