The autumn of Pisogne on Lake Iseo

In Pisogne, a village in the province of Brescia overlooking the northern shore of Lake Iseo, the Festival of Mushrooms and Chestnuts marks the arrival of autumn every year. It is one of the longest-standing and most beloved sagre (local festivals) of the Sebino area, capable of attracting visitors from all over the province and beyond.

A tradition of over seventy years

With its 74th edition, the festival boasts a history rooted in the mid-20th century. The absolute protagonists are the fruits of the autumn woods: mushrooms and chestnuts, the latter roasted by the chestnut vendors in the ever-present caldarroste (roasted chestnuts).

Stalls, markets, and shows

The village comes alive with food stalls, markets, crafts, and zero-kilometre producers. The programme includes:

• Shows, concerts, and street artists
• Exhibitions of historic vehicles
• Guided tours to discover the area
• A climbing wall and, on Sundays, helicopter rides

The heart of the community

The event is organised by the Pro Loco of Pisogne, the true driving force behind the village's community life. The festival is an opportunity to promote the products of the Brescia mountains and to experience the village in its most authentic guise, through the narrow streets of the historic centre and the backdrop of the lake.
