Edition 2025 — Squacciafichere Festival

The 16th edition of the Festa de li Squacciafichere took place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Piazza Garibaldi, Atessa. The evening, dedicated to the Fico Secco Reale, a Slow Food Presidium, featured food stalls with fig-themed menus, performances, and a live show by the group "Le pannocchie dell'Adriatico." The edition welcomed twinned delegations from Malta, Carmignano, and San Michele Salentino, along with the presentation of the Squacciafichero D.O.P. Award.

The 2025 Edition

The 16th edition of the Festa de li Squacciafichere was held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Piazza Garibaldi in Atessa, province of Chieti. Once again, the absolute protagonist was the Fico Secco Reale of Atessa, a Slow Food Presidium, celebrated with food stalls and themed menus.

The evening featured a live show by the group "Le pannocchie dell'Adriatico" and the presentation of the Premio Squacciafichero D.O.P., an award given to those who have promoted the name of Atessa beyond local borders. A sign of the event's growing reach, the 2025 edition welcomed twinned delegations from Malta, Carmignano, and San Michele Salentino, confirming the cultural ties built over the years by the Atessa Ventunesimo Secolo association.
