Ferragosto in Positano - Patronal Feast of Santa Maria Assunta

In August 2025, the community of Positano celebrated its patron saint following the usual festive cycle. The novena opened on August 5th with the exit of the Madonna's statue from its chapel and continued until the 13th with the Rosary, chaplet, and daily Holy Masses. On August 9th, a jubilee pilgrimage took place, starting at dawn from Piazza dei Mulini and organized by pastoral zones; on August 10th, on the seafront rotunda, the dawn concert by the Amalfi Coast Philharmonic Orchestra was held, while some celebrations were presided over by Bishop Michele Fusco.

On August 14th, the vigil brought the traditional "Alzata del Quadro", the solemn celebration by Archbishop Orazio Soricelli, and the lyrical-symphonic performance in Piazza Flavio Gioia. On August 15th, after the morning Masses, the evening procession crossed the alleys and the Spiaggia Grande, and at midnight, the fireworks display handled by the Guadagno company illuminated the bay in front of the village, followed by thousands of people on land and from boats. From August 16th to 22nd, the seven-day thanksgiving took place, closed by the lowering of the painting and the return of the statue to the Cappella Stellata.
