Edition 2025 — Federician Year

The 3rd edition of the Federician Year took place in Celano from August 2 to 10, 2025. The opening on August 2 at the Lizza of Castello Piccolomini was a sell-out, featuring the concert "100 bellows, one voice": one hundred accordions conducted by Maestro Enrico Melozzi, with over seven hundred spectators arriving from thirteen regions. The week featured historical processions, flag-wavers, jester performances by Corrado Oddi, and conferences, concluding on August 10 in Piazza IV Novembre with the re-reading of the Pact of Concordia and a drone and fireworks show.

Federician Year 2025: the 3rd edition

The third edition of the Federician Year brought Celano (AQ) to life from August 2 to 10, 2025, under the artistic direction of Cesare Paris and organized by the municipal administration. The inauguration on August 2, at the Lizza of Castello Piccolomini, was marked by the concert «100 bellows, one voice»: one hundred accordions conducted by Maestro Enrico Melozzi, in a sold-out event with over seven hundred spectators from thirteen Italian regions.

In the following days, costumed processions, performances by flag-wavers and drummers, jester performances by actor Corrado Oddi, and historical insights dedicated to Frederick II of Swabia took place. The closing on August 10 featured a historical procession in Piazza IV Novembre with about two hundred participants, the theatrical re-reading of the Pact of Concordia, and, in the evening, a drone show and fireworks over the historic center.

Programme

August 2: inaugural concert «100 bellows, one voice» with one hundred accordions conducted by Enrico Melozzi at the Lizza of Castello Piccolomini. Central days: historical processions, flag-wavers, drummers, jester performances by Corrado Oddi, conferences on Frederick II. August 10: opening from the balcony of the Municipal Palace, performances in Piazza IV Novembre, historical procession with about 200 participants, re-reading of the Pact of Concordia; in the evening, drone show and fireworks.
