Edition 2025 — Feast of the Patronage

In 2025, the Congregation of the Holy Family once again renewed the Feast of the Patronage of Saint Joseph in Alcamo, celebrated as per tradition on the third Sunday after Easter. The Holy Family procession, featuring children in costume and the town band, crossed the historic center to Piazza Ciullo, where the distribution of cucciddati—the blessed breads symbolizing the festival and its spirit of charity—took place.

The 2025 edition

In 2025, the Feast of the Patronage of Saint Joseph reaffirmed its unchanging ritual in Alcamo. As per the tradition established in 1880, the celebration fell on the third Sunday after Easter, with the procession of characters portraying Baby Jesus, Mary, and Saint Joseph along Corso VI Aprile.

Organized by the Congregation of the Holy Family, the festival concluded in Piazza Ciullo with the ceremonial lunch and the distribution of cucciddati, the blessed breads of Saint Joseph, accompanied by the marches of the town band. A new chapter in a folk and religious tradition that remains unique throughout Sicily.
