Feast of the Madonna della Provvidenza

In 2025, the feast of Maria Santissima della Provvidenza brought San Giuseppe Jato to life from August 13 to 15. August 13 was the highlight, with the solemn procession of the Madonna's statue through the town streets, accompanied by hymns, prayers, and great participation. The day intertwined religious rites with the opening of civil celebrations.

At the same time, the 242nd edition of the livestock exhibition was held, inaugurated at the Via Marco D'Alia skating rink in the presence of Mayor Giuseppe Siviglia. The program included a parade of Sicilian carts and equestrian demonstrations, while on Ferragosto, August 15, there was an exhibition of cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, and poultry, with an awards ceremony at noon. The Experimental Zootechnical Institute for Sicily presented native breeds such as the Modicana and the Girgentana goat, as well as raw-milk Sicilian DOP cheeses.
