Feast of the Madonna della Cava – Anniversary of the Proclamation as Patron Saint

On May 6, 2025, the community of Marsala gathered at the Sanctuary of the Cava to commemorate the proclamation of Maria Santissima della Cava as the principal Patron Saint of the city, which took place by notarial deed on May 6, 1788. The day followed a prayer program with the rosary, vespers, and a solemn Eucharistic celebration. The anniversary followed the grand feast of January 19, 2025, when, after the novena, the statue was carried in procession from the sanctuary through the streets of the center, with a live television broadcast of the Mass presided over by the bishop.
