Feast of the Madonna della Catena (Patronal Feast)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Madonna della Catena was celebrated on Sunday, September 14 in Riesi, in the province of Caltanissetta. Preceded by the preparatory novena, the festival drew faithful and pilgrims to the Basilica Santuario Maria SS. della Catena.

The patronal day featured the morning alborata, the procession of authorities toward the Sanctuary for the solemn pontifical mass, and, in the evening, the procession of the wooden statue of the Madonna, accompanied by confraternities, the faithful, and a marching band along the main streets. The festivities were completed by illuminations, musical performances in the square, and fireworks.
