In 2025, the community of Calatafimi-Segesta (Trapani) gathered once again for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. On the evening of December 7th, families animated the traditional tavulidde, the community dinners that last late into the night. At the ringing of the bells of the Church of San Michele, around 4 a.m. on December 8th, the night-time procession began: a long trail of fire fueled by ciaccule di disa accompanied the statue of the Madonna along the streets of the historic centre, amidst the prayers of the faithful. The procession concluded at dawn with the Dawn Mass, confirming the vitality of a tradition that has been repeated uninterruptedly in Calatafimi-Segesta since 1908.
