Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Sorrows

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Sorrows in Bisceglie opened on Saturday, September 13th and concluded on Tuesday, September 16th, organized by the Patronal Feast Committee (chaired by Pierpaolo Sinigaglia) in collaboration with the Cathedral Chapter and the Municipality of Bisceglie.

The central moment was Monday, September 15th: in the morning, masses were held every hour from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while at 6:00 PM the Archbishop presided over the solemn pontifical mass at the Co-Cathedral, followed by the procession of the statue through the streets of the historic center. The painting of the Virgin had been enthroned on a throne set up at the Teatro Garibaldi.

Alongside the liturgical appointments, the civic festival enlivened the squares: brass band concerts, illuminations, and, among the evening events, a "Milonga under the stars" dedicated to Argentine tango in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. To close the festivities, the traditional fireworks display took place along the harbor.

• Followed by — Procession of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Sorrows through the streets of the historic center

• Musical events, concerts in the square, and fireworks display along the harbor to conclude the festivities
