The Feast of the Blessed Virgin Annunciation is one of the most heartfelt religious events in Casalciprano, a small municipality in the province of Campobasso. It is celebrated on March 24th and 25th and is linked to the SS. Annunziata Sanctuary of Badiali, in the Castagneto area, a place of devotion for the region.

Procession of the Ancient Wooden Statue

The heart of the festival is the solemn procession of the Blessed Virgin's ancient wooden statue. On March 24th, in the afternoon, the statue is carried in a procession from the village to the sanctuary, accompanied by the community; the evening is characterized by a candlelight procession and an overnight vigil. On March 25th, Masses are celebrated, the traditional fair is held, and the statue returns to the village with another procession.

A Rite That Marks the Year

The spring festival is part of a cycle of devotion that links Casalciprano to the Badiali Sanctuary throughout the year: the statue moves to the sanctuary for the winter and returns to the village for the summer, marking the community's calendar with its movements.
