Feast of the Birth of Santa Maria De Mattias

In 2025, Vallecorsa celebrated the birth of Santa Maria De Mattias with a rich calendar from February 1 to 8. On Monday, February 3, at 5:00 PM, the community welcomed the relics of Blessed Giovanni Merlini, the saint's spiritual director, at Largo San Rocco; this was followed at 6:00 PM by a solemn mass celebrated by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and, at 8:30 PM, by a prayer vigil. On Tuesday, February 4, the day of the birth anniversary, the 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM masses were dedicated to local school students; at 5:00 PM, the procession with the saint's statue and the relics of Blessed Merlini traveled through the village streets accompanied by the "Giuseppe Verdi" band of Vallecorsa, before the solemn 6:00 PM mass in the Church of Sant'Angelo, presided over by Bishop Ambrogio Spreafico with the diaconal ordination of Federico Mirabella. A particularly well-attended edition, which confirmed the depth of the bond between the Ciociaria village and its saint.
