Edition 2025 — Festa d'u Bamminu

In 2025, Giuliana once again renewed its most unique tradition. From March 16th to 18th, local carpenters carried the statue of the Baby Jesus from house to house, placing it on family beds, while newlyweds tied pink and blue ribbons. On March 19th, the Feast of Saint Joseph, the joint procession of the statues traveled through the Sicani Mountains village.

The 2025 edition

In March 2025, the Festa d'u Bamminu took place according to the usual rite that makes it unique in Sicily. For three days, the statue of the Baby Jesus, detached from the wooden group of Saint Joseph, was accompanied by the carpenters into the homes of Giuliana, where it was briefly placed on every bed. Young couples renewed the ancient vow, decorating the statue with scocche and leaving an offering. Each evening, the Baby Jesus was kept in a different church — SS. Trinità, SS. Cuore di Maria, and Carmine — until the reunion with Saint Joseph. The procession on March 19th concluded the festivities, with the confraternities carrying the sacred images through the streets of the town in the province of Palermo.
